DID YOU KNOW THERE ARE OVER 200 ORPHANAGES IN UGANDA ALONE?
It is Eye Care For Africa’s goal to work with these orphanages and other
organisations to provide eye care to some of the most marginalised groups in
the countries of Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda & Kenya.

There are so many children whose eye sight is in dire need of appropriate attention,
children with such conditions as cataracts. We are working with the teams at ground
zero to help train staff and give these children the best possible eye care solutions.

Eye Care For Africa is a official charity registered
with the NZ Charities Commission and aims at
provide real care to African Children in need.

Hannah is on her way with us to Africa

Congratulation to Hannah Martin who will be accompanying the charity Eye Care For Africa to Tanzania and Kenya in July 2019. The charity has provided a scholarship to al local Hawkes Bay high school student to join the 2019 trip and experience the work they do in providing eye care. Hannah was one of a number of stand out applicants for the trip, eventually being named as the successful recipient.

Hannah is in year 12 at Havelock North High School and will be accompanied by her mother. Hannah has always been interested in volunteer work and has been donating some of her pocket money to third world projects since she was at intermediate school. We hope you have a wonderful experience, Hannah, and look forward to hearing you tell us all about it when you return home!
